TDAP immunization is a vital vaccine for children, adolescents, and adults. It protects against three bacterial diseases: Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis (whooping cough). Tetanus is a bacterial infection that can enter the body through cuts and scrapes, and can cause severe muscle spasms, difficulty breathing, and even death. Diphtheria is an infection that can affect the nose, throat, and airways and cause difficulty breathing, heart failure, and even death. Pertussis, or whooping cough, is a highly contagious respiratory infection that causes coughing fits and can even lead to pneumonia. TDAP immunization can help protect against all three of these diseases. It is highly recommended that all children, adolescents, and adults receive the TDAP vaccine to ensure their safety.
